Over four months ago I was made redundant from my full time office job in London. I used the opportunity to have some time out, or an 'extended holiday' as I liked to call it before heading back home and focussing fully on teaching yoga. I had it all figured out - a clear vision of where I wanted to be come January and I was excited at the propsect of my new life.
Well, it's safe to say that the travelling got to my soul, I caught the bug good and proper and there wasn't one ounce of me that wanted to get on my return flight home – so I didn't. I took a risk, to chase the dream and to join the brave.
Whilst travelling I started writing anything and everything that came to me down in a journal. It's been the best way for me to digest my thoughts, when I've felt least grounded or to keep hold of a memory. Not only is the release through words cathartic, but reflecting on it a few days, weeks or months later has been really enlightening. My gut has been telling me to write for a while now, and although it's scary to put my words out there I hope I can share my mermaid yoga tales with you in a positive way.
So today, typing away from my 'desk' (also known as my friends sofa) home is Sydney :)
